Offerings at Paradise

Ear Candling:
Ear coning acts as a catalyst to clear out debris accumulated on nerve endings. This allows for clear vibrational flow to the corresponding area of the mind, body and spirit and clears the way for other methods of healing. A typical Candling client is one searching for a more natural way to alleviate pressure in their head or upper respiratory area, or someone in search of relief from pain in their children’s ears, or to hear, smell, see or just to feel better. This treatment may improve any of the following conditions: sinus problems, sore throat, ear ache, swimmer’s ear, some chronic headaches, allergies and hearing difficulty. Many nations have used ear candling for thousands of years for purification as well as for above conditions.

Sauna:
Cleanse your pores, eliminate toxins and enjoy the music, read or just relax in a dry sauna at Paradise. Your skin will radiate with health and feel silky and clean. Shower and rest room available. Clients are encouraged to bring their own toiletries and towels. Suggested usage for beginners is 20 minutes at 120 degrees and later at a maximum of 45 minutes at 130- 150 degrees.

Bodywork at PHA: At Paradise there are a number of soft tissue and energy therapies used, depending on the condition and desires of the patient.

CORE General Myofascial Bodywork is designed to lengthen and open restricted patterns in the connective tissue. It is used to treat specific soft-tissue dysfunction and pain related to injury, overuse or lack of exercise.

CORE Structural Integration is a method of deep bodywork used to evaluate and alleviate postural misalignments. The therapy is usually completed in 10-15 sessions lasting about one and a half hours each. Its goals are improved function, flexibility, mobility, heightened self-image and a re-established sense of balance.

Qi Gong is a series of movements that cultivate our internal body energy. This energy, called “qi,” is the flow of health in our bodies when trained and maintained. This gentle practice, standing in one place, is traceable for over 5,000 years in China and the Middle East. Proper practice can improve vascular and lymphatic circulation, improve digestion, increase brain function, improve mental health, strengthen the immune and skeletal systems and increase life expectancy.

Reiki is a type of energy bodywork that relies on the ancient belief in the life force energy, referred to as “qi.” Performed with client fully clothed while lying on a massage table, the reiki practitioner(s) gently lay hands on the client, particularly on the chakra or energy centers of the body as well as areas of special need. It is now used in hospitals and with patients receiving chemotherapy to reduce adverse symptoms and stress as well as for anyone wishing to feel more relaxed yet vital.

Reflexology promotes the body’s marvelous ability to adjust and balance during times of stress. Practiced in diverse cultures for centuries, reflexology is more than a good foot massage. For either preventive care or in response to physical or emotional distress, reflexology has been observed to create physical changes that can bring about balance, ease and healing. Client removes shoes and socks and relaxes in a reclined chair while the reflexologist massages in a circular motion any of over a hundred points on the feet that coordinate with specific organs and/or areas of the body to allow positive change to occur.

Shiatsu is the Japanese finger pressure method of massage used to improve circulation, stimulate nerves, and improve metabolism. The therapist uses pressure points used by acupuncturists, only without the needles, while the client is lying on a mat fully clothed. Shiatsu helps restore the body’s natural recuperative powers, disperses toxins, relaxes muscles and improves circulation of blood and lymph.

Sport Therapy can be a combination of many types of therapy depending on the sport and/or injury. It is used to prepare athletes for upcoming events and to aid in bodily restoration following competitions. Connective tissue massage, active isolated stretching, specific yoga and T’ai Chi movements as well as structural bodywork may all be part of the sessions.

Swedish Massage uses traditional manipulative techniques of effleurage, petrissage, vibration, friction, and tapotement. It can be slow and gentle, vigorous or bracing, according to the results the practitioner wishes to achieve. The therapist usually uses oil or lotion for these sessions.

Thai Yoga Massage combines the best of yoga and bodywork. It is performed on a mat in comfortable clothing and is customized to the needs and wants of each client. It can provide significant results in reducing stress, easing discomfort and creating profound feelings of relaxation. In Thailand, this therapy is the main medical treatment for most of the people, some receiving sessions on a daily basis.
